GUWAHATI, Feb 27 � The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has opposed granting of Indian citizenship to Bangladeshi nationals.
AIUDF general secretary (organisation) Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Kasimi said in a statement that his party has always opposed handing over of Assam�s land to Bangladesh or granting citizenship to Bangladeshi nationals.
He said any such attempt will vitiate the atmosphere of Assam and called upon the Central Government not to insult the sentiments of the Assamese people.
