GUWAHATI, Aug 10 - The Assembly session started on a stormy note today with the AIUDF members expelled for the day when they vociferously demanded during Zero Hour a debate on the reported large-scale corruption in government departments with special reference to the APSCs functioning, besides corruption in the agriculture department and in police constable recruitment.

Speaker Pranab Gogoi refused to allow the debate as demanded by the AIUDF, citing Assembly rules. When the AIUDF members did not relent, he first adjourned the House for ten minutes and as the AIUDF members persisted with their demand for a debate even after resumption, he expelled them for the day.
