AIUDF declares candidates for 3 LS seats

GUWAHATI, March 17 � The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) today announced candidates for three more constituencies for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, including nominating Dr Parvez Ahmed, son of late President of India Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, from Silchar.

AIUDF general secretary (Organisation) Aminul Islam told reporters here today that besides Ahmed from Silchar, Shaikh Mohammed Sadiq would be the party�s candidate from Tezpur and Bijoy Kumar Tiru from Kaliabor.

�We will soon announce the name of our candidate for Mangaldai after the name of the Congress party�s nominee from the constituency is out,� Islam said. With today�s list, the AIUDF has so far announced its candidates for nine constituencies in Assam and eight in West Bengal. The party will contest 10 out of the 14 Lok Sabha seats from Assam.
