By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Jan 19 Branded this year as AIM Quest Ashwamedh, the 11th edition of the Annual B-School fest, will be organised by Assam Institute of Management from January 20 to 21.

This was revealed in a press meet held here today, and which described it as something that will go beyond mere competitive events. According to the organisers, the AIM Quest Ashwamedh will incorporate programmes with a socially inclusive agenda.

Speaking to the media, director of AIM, Shantikam Hazarika said that this year the fest would seek to make participants aware of important issues like sensitivity to social issues and corporate social responsibility.

It was his view that the participating students of management will one day hold important positions, and it can be expected that their understanding of socially meaningful actions will lead to benefits beyond their business interests.

To acquaint the management students with positive social action, the fest would highlight activities of Akshya Patra Foundation, which provides mid-day meals to 40,000 poor students in and around Guwahati on a daily basis.

Organisers of the fest would provide the foundation opportunities to meet with corporates so that more funds can be raised to support their work.

The inauguration of the two-day event to be held at Shilpgram, Panjabari, will be attended by several eminent persons, including CC Mitra, director of IIBM as the chief guest.

According to the organisers, the event will create a platform to offer opportunities to students from different business schools to meet each other in a competitive environment. The various events that would test their knowledge and skills are: Yojana- a business plan contest, Quizzicals - a quiz contest, Ranbhumi a business debate contest, Ad Zap an advertising contest, among others.
