Aid distributed to riot-hit in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR, Dec 12 � BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary on Sunday distributed 50 power reaper machines among the riot-affected farmers in Kokrajhar district at a simple function held at Kadamtola here. Mohilary formally handed over the tractors to the affected farmers. MLA Pramila Rani Brahma and BTC MCLA Doneswar Goyary among others attended the meeting.

The BTC chief also distributed utensils and blankets to the riot-affected people of Hakaipara village near Kokrajhar town who were going back to their respective villages from the relief camps in the first phase of the rehabilitation process. Around 363 families of Hakaipara received the aids provided by the BTC administration.

Addressing the gathering, Hagrama Mohilary said that the BTC Government has been distributing materials like utensils, clothes, tractors and other materials to the affected people with proper securities. At the same time, he said that the BTC had provided every possible agricultural aid like tractor, power reaper machine, etc., to the affected farmers and seeds for winter crops would also be given to farmers as early as possible.

MLA Pramila Rani Brahma appealed to the people to forget the past and start a new life by shunning violence.
