GUWAHATI, July 3 � The Assam Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has taken a suo-moto cognizance of the attack on Borkhola MLA Dr Rumi Nath and her newly-wed husband Jacky Jakir in a hotel in Karimganj.
In a press statement, the Commission stated that it has taken suo-moto cognizance of the case based on the news reports. �After pursuing the reports, the AHRC feels that under no circumstances, the people should be allowed to take law into their hands,� the press release added.
