AGP hits back at Govt on land deal

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Sept 25 The Opposition AGP today fired yet another salvo at the Congress Government over the Indo-Bangladesh land deal, saying that, it is the beginning of an autocratic Congress rule in the State.

Replying to the charges levelled by the Congress leaders in a political rally yesterday, AGP president Chandra Mohan Patowary today said that the people would never entertain incongruent and misleading explanations of the Chief Minister.

People of Assam will never forgive the Congress for causing this great loss to the State, and the Chief Minister should resign owning moral responsibility, Patowary said.

The AGP also alleged that the Congress Government in the State is blindly following the Centres dictate to avoid the possible consequences of the Rs 1,000-crore NC Hills scam.

The role of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and many of his Cabinet colleagues was evident in the scam and the Government was left with no other option but to toe the lines of the Centre.
