GUWAHATI, Nov 14 - The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today alleged that both the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been propagating bad cultural traits in Assam with designs to cover up their acts of deceit.

In a statement here, the partys publicity secretary Manoj Saikia said that the Assam-related policies of both the Congress and BJP are quite similar. Both parties have been spreading the Delhi-centric cheap and worst kind of politics in Assam.

Their fight over the issues concerning Assam is not based on any principles. Their fight is nothing but opportunistic. Repression, enticement and effecting schisms among the people form the core of their politics.

The need of the hour is to stand against all such anti-people politics and to uphold the banner of regionalism to safeguard the interest of the State and its people. For the people of Assam, there is no alternative to regionalism, said the AGP publicity secretary, warning the Congress and the BJP against making any deprecating comments against the regionalistic aspirations of the States people.
