By Correspondent

GOLAKGANJ, March 18 - The decision of an alliance between the BJP and the AGP for the upcoming election in the State is still creating disappointment and confusion among the workers of both the parties.

In many parts of the State, leaders and grassroots workers have left their parties and formed new parties. But in 23 Dhubri Legislative Assembly Constituency, the AGP-BJP alliance seems to be working. The BJP candidate, Dr Debomoy Sannal has been given full support and cooperation from the AGP.

In a meeting, jointly organised by the Dhubri district unit of the BJP and AGP held at the AGP party office, Dhubri on Wednesday, full support was assured to the BJP candidate Dr Debomoy Sannal. Amal Kumar Saha, president, Dhubri district unit of the AGP appealed to party workers of both the parties to work together and give full support and cooperation to the alliance.

In the meeting, along with Dr Debomoy Sannal and Amal Kumar Saha, Dipak Kumar Saha, president, Dhubri district unit of BJP, Susanta Kar, secretary, Dhubri district unit of BJP, Biswajit Kalita, executive member, AGP central committee, Ashok Kumar Roy Prodhani and Debabrata Singha, secretaries of Dhubri district unit of AGP and many leaders, workers of both the AGP and the BJP were present.

Meanwhile, Dr Debomoy Sannal has started to organise public meetings in different parts of Dhubri LAC. The present AIUDF MLA Zahanuddin and his supporters have also started their campaign. So it will be indeed a tough competition between the Congress, the AIUDF candidate and the AGP-BJP alliance candidate Dr Debomoy Sannal in Dhubri in the upcoming elections.
