By A Correspondent

NAGAON, April 16 - Election campaign for the 2nd phase of LS polls in the district concluded in the evening today.

On the last day of campaigning for the second phase, candidates as well as the party workers of both the political parties like the ruling BJP alliance and the Opposition Congress tried to draw the attention of the voters of the Nagaon parliamentary constituency and also attempted to win the heart of the people of all sections. The ruling saffron party and its alliance parties today took out colourful roadshows at almost all mandal levels covering all the 9 LACs of Nagaon Lok Sabha seat and tried their best to attract the voters. The BJP-AGP alliance candidate for Nagaon LS seat, Rupak Sarma took part in most of those roadshows where he appealed to the voters of the constituency to vote for him for the all round development of a prestigious constituency like Nagaon. He said, the constituency has been loaded with various problems like flood, erosion and the revival of the Jagiroad Paper Mill and the Kampur Sugar Mill. For a solution to these old problems of the constituency or for the revival of both mills or industries he asked the voters to vote him this time and also urged the voters to strengthen the hands of Narendra Modi to form government at the Centre for another term.

On the other hand, the Opposition Congress also conducted election rallies at various places in the constituency. The party candidate, Pradyut Bordoloi addressed a rally at Dakhinpat Chariali today and urged the voters to vote for him for a secular social atmosphere. Lashing out at the saffron party, Bordoloi said that the ruling BJP had suffocated the society with divisive politics and the Congress along with all people irrespective of caste, community and religion wanted to build a new atmosphere where everyone could breathe freely and live with dignity and respect.
