NAGAON, June 10 - In a routine drive last night, Nagaon Itachali police led by SI Mrigen Saikia seized an illegal Agar wood-laden Maruti Ertiga car (AS01BH-7742) near Uriagaon bypass Chariali and arrested two persons from the spot.
Police later seized a huge cache of Agar slices inside more than 20 packets from the car.
According to sources, the nabbed persons have been identified as Nekibur Rahman of Maharani Majgaon and Mojibur Rahman of Butipuria under Dergaon police station in Golaghat district.
The sources added that the huge bundles of illegal Agar wood slices were being carried towards Hojai to an unknown destination.
