GUWAHATI, March 11 � The public adyashraddha ceremony of the renowned artist, sculptor, writer and Kalaratna awardee Dr Sobha Brahma would be held On March 15 at the Bathouphuri Bodo High School playground, Guwahati.

A souvenir, on the life and works of the great artist would also be released on the same day.

Floral tributes were paid to the artist and ex-vice president of the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Dr Sobha Brahma in a memorial meet held today at the Bodo Sahitya Sabha office at Nayanpur Road, Guwahati.

Addressing the gathering, KK Mochahary, general secretary of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha rued the lack of initiative on the part of district administration in arranging for the last rites of the renowned artist. �While the procession was taken out from the house of Dr Brahma to the Bhootnath crematorium, there was no arrangement for controlling the traffic. At the cremation ground also, there was no sitting arrangements for those who came to pay their last respects,� he said adding that the Brahma was a world renowned artist and there should have been special efforts to bid him adieu.
