Advocate general�s death condoled

ITANAGAR, July 25 � Arunachal Pradesh Governor Gen (Retd) JJ Singh and Chief Minister Jarbom Gamlin have expressed grief at the sudden death of State�s Advocate General Chapal Kumar Sharma Baruah. Baruah died yesterday morning at International Hospital in Guwahati.

Conveying condolence to the bereaved family, Governor said Baruah, a legal luminary, made immense contribution to the State during his two-term as advocate general of Arunachal Pradesh.

Gamlin, in a message to Baruah�s widow said, �I am aware how painful it is to you to be deprived of an adorable husband and the futility of these words of condolences. We should take solace in the eternal truth that the soul is immortal.�

Designated by Gauhati High Court as senior advocate, Baruah was a member of Executive Council, Bar Council of India, member of Rule Committee, Bar Council of India and many more. He had served as Advocate General of Arunachal Pradesh from August 2003 to May 2007 and again appointed to the post in May this year. �PTI
