IMPHAL, Nov 12 - Youth Adventure Water Sports Festival under the banner of the Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA) is all set to host various adventure sports activities in the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival which is scheduled to kick off from November 21 at Hapta Kangjeibung. MMTA secretary Ph Chandrakumar said the number of sport activities which used to be showcased in previous editions of the festival has considerably reduced as there are limitations of space allocation in the venue.
There is possibility of including �Hot air balloon ride� for the tourists, but it has not yet been finalized by the association, he added. Further he said that adventure sports activities will be conducted in various districts of the State. In Senapati district, trekking the highest peak of Manipur Mt Iso and Dzuko valley will be held from November 22 to 25.In Manipur Mountaineering Institute (MMI) Complex of Churachandpur and Bishnupur district activities like general obstacle, trekking, view of Loktak, human sling shot etc. will be conducted from Nov 26 to 27, he added.
Power paragliding and parasailing in Koirengei Old Airfield; water skiing, sailboat, wind surfing, water surfing and other water sport activities at Loktak Lake (Takmu Water-sports Complex) from November 22 to 30. He said that land and water based adventure activities will be held at Khoupum valley of Tamenglong district from November 23 to 26; caving and trekking activities will be conducted in various areas of Ukhrul district.
