GUWAHATI, April 29 - With the city witnessing a number of tragic accidents during recent days on account of rash driving by errant bus drivers and following complaints against city buses over noncompliance of road safety norms, the Kamrup Metro district administration today ordered cancellation of permit of any bus found to be involved in any accident and also confiscation of the licences of drivers who are involved in such mishaps.
�Due to noncompliance of basic rules to be followed by the buses, various accidents occur causing irreparable loss of lives and properties and also create many law and order situation. Guwahati being the capital city of the State need to have systematic approach for making this system hassle free,� said an order issued by Dr M Angamuthu, district magistrate of Kamrup Metro and chairman of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA).
The order said that it has been observed that some of the buses do not follow the road safety norms and abide by the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act 1988.
