Adivasi militant leader held

KOKRAJHAR, May 24 � Close on the heels of the firing incident on All Adivasi Students� Association of Assam vice president Inus Tudu yesterday night at his residence at Pakriguri under Serfanguri police station of Kokrajhar district by miscreants, police picked up Kanu Murmu, the

C-in-C of Adivasi Cobra Military of Assam (ACMA).

PK Dutta, SP Kokrajhar said that Kanu Murmu was picked up on the basis of the FIR and statement of the victim.

Dutta also informed that among the four miscreants involved in the incident, one was identified as Birbal Tudu of Udalguri, who was nabbed by the villagers with a motorbike and lynched while the three others fled.

In the meantime, Inus Tudu was rushed to the RNB Civil Hospital and subsequently shifted to Bongaigaon in a critical condition.
