Adivasi leader Justin Lakra passes away

GUWAHATI, July 14 - Founder president of the All Adivasi Students� Association of Assam (AASAA) Justin Lakra passed away this morning at a private hospital here. He was 45.

Lakra was suffering from multiple organ disorder and was undergoing treatment at the GNRC for the last couple of months.

Born in October 2, 1970 at Gossaigaon in Kokrajhar district, Lakra completed his graduation from Shillong. On July 2, 1996 he founded AASAA in the aftermath of an ethnic violence.

In a condolence message, AASAA president Raphael Kujur mourned the death of the Adivasi leader and termed it as an irreparable loss.

His last rites will be performed tomorrow at Gossaigaon.

In the meantime, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in a condolence message termed the demise of Justin Lakra as a great loss to society.
