Address issues affecting homoeo doctors, students: Gogoi to Govt

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, March 11 - Former chief minister Tarun Gogoi has called upon the State government to take steps for addressing the issues raised by the homoeopathic doctors and homoeopathic medical students of Assam.

Gogoi has written a letter to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in this regard.

It has been told that there is shortage of teaching faculty in all the homoeopathy medical colleges due to which academic performance of the students has been affected. Infrastructures of these colleges also need to be improved and necessary funds may be granted to promote these homoeopathy colleges. Besides, there is a large number of unemployed BHMS doctors in Assam as the Health Department has not taken steps to recruit BHMS doctors in the last few years, Gogoi stated in the letter.

I request you to kindly look into their genuine demands... and direct the departments concerned to take necessary steps in this regard, the letter added.
