TINSUKIA, Dec 6 Irked by the alleged negligence of the State Public Works Department towards a portion of the NH-37 along Doomdooma and Tinsukia which has become almost non-motorable due to potholes and severe wear and tear, the Doomdooma Anchalik Samiti of the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad burnt the effigy of Ajanta Neog, State PWD Minister, in Doomdooma town on Wednesday.

The protesters alleged that the road has not been repaired for many years due to which it has become dangerous for commuters. They demanded that the PWD should immediately repair the portion of the road which is an important part of the National Highway to communicate with Sadiya and many places in Arunachal Pradesh besides Tinsukia and other parts of the country.
