Addl Chief Secy relieved from Irrigation Dept

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 10 - Additional Chief Secretary TY Das has been relieved from the charge of Irrigation Department by the State Government following a request from her, said sources in the State administration here yesterday.

It needs mention here that there were reports in a section of the media (not The Assam Tribune) that Das was removed from the post of Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation Department, recently by the Government on its own.

Contrary to such reports, it is found that Das had requested the State Chief Secretary on October 5 to relieve her from the responsibility of Additional Chief Secretary, Irrigation.

In her letter to the Chief Secretary, Das said, I would like to inform you that I have been facing some constraints and problems in working harmoniously with the Irrigation Minister, possibly, the problem is mutual.

I would, therefore, like to request you to kindly relieve me from responsibility of Addl Chief Secretary Irrigation, said Das. Accordingly, she was relieved from the charge of Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, Irrigation Department by an order of the Governor (No.AAI.6/2014/109) on October 6, 2015.

Das is now holding the charges of Additional Chief Secretary to the Govt of Assam, PWD (Roads) and PWD (National Highway and Building). Das joined the Govt as Additional Chief Secretary PWD (Roads, National Highway and Building) and Irrigation on July 13, 2015.
