IMPHAL, May 30 � Campaigning for the Manipur ADC election of June 1 has come to an end at 4 pm today. Voting will start from 7 am of Monday and will close at 4.30 pm. All necessary preparations for the successful conduct of the poll has been completed, official sources said.
For a safe, free and fair election, State forces along with paramilitary forces have been deployed in all the 1,163 polling stations in the six ADCs of the State. A total of 495 candidates are contesting the polls. Seven Congress candidates, three NPF and one BJP candidate have been already elected uncontested.
If there arises any need for re-poll, it will be held on June 6. Counting of votes will take place on June 10.
