GUWAHATI, April 27 � Taking action on the incident of death of a 14-year-old girl after falling into the open drain in Uzanbazar, the Kamrup District administration has held the then Executive Engineer of PWD (Roads), Guwahati City Division I, Phanindra Nath Patowary responsible for ignoring his duties. Not satisfied with the reply to the �show cause� given to him, the DC (Metro) said that the incident happened because the said official�s negligence. A letter has been sent to the Commissioner of PWD to take immediate action against the official. He has also urged in the letter to take action against the SDO, who is in charge of the Uzanbazar area, mentioned an official statement.
