Acharya reviews govt schemes in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, July 3 - Nagaland Governor PB Acharya held a meeting with Dimapur district officials to review the performances of different government departments at the Dimapur DC�s conference hall here.

Reviewing the achievements under the different flagship schemes, the Governor said that these schemes are aimed for the uplift of the poor and underprivileged sections of the society. He urged the government officials to ensure that the targeted people get the benefits.

Acharya also appealed to the district officers to give suggestions to the Government for better and effective implementation of different programmes. He called upon all officers in the district to work towards the uplift and empowerment of the most neglected and poor people, saying that it is the duty and responsibility of every educated person.

Expressing concern over the poor results of government schools, Acharya stated that the poorest of the poor come to government-run schools. He also asked the department officials to find out the reasons behind the poor performance.

The Governor described Nagaland as a beautiful State blessed with the maximum natural resources. He called upon the people to identify the avenues to make Nagaland an economically independent State. He advised all the officers to be nodal agents of different flagship schemes and encouraged them to boldly stand up against corruption and help create a conducive atmosphere in the district where everyone is treated equally and respected.

The meeting was chaired by Dimapur DC Sushil Kumar Patel.
