Acharya meets children, staff of NAPTC

DIMAPUR, July 9 - Nagaland Governor PB Acharya on Tuesday called upon children to perform their duties as students towards their studies and shine in their chosen field.

He was interacting with the children of officers and staff of Nagaland Armed Police Training Centre (NAPTC), Chumukedima, during their visit to Raj Bhavan in Kohima, a release said.

Pointing out that all are equal, Acharya exhorted the students to focus on their talents and work towards achieving their goals.

Stating that education is the pillar of development, the Governor asked the students to take their studies with all seriousness. He also emphasised on the importance of taking skill courses and to take the challenge of being an entrepreneur.

Commissioner and secretary to the Governor, Dinesh Kumar, welcomed the children to Raj Bhavan. He hoped the children would enjoy the opportunity of visiting and interacting with the Governor and cherish the moment.

Commandant, NAPTC, Ben Longkumer, said the NAPTC has a vibrant and active Family Welfare Association. He said the association aims at holistic development and fulfilment of social obligation through various welfare measures, social empowerment and skill building of spouses and dependents of the unit personnel.

He said an exposure and sightseeing trip to Kohima was planned as a welfare initiative and as a positive group activity for the children of NAPTC during their summer holidays.
