GUWAHATI, Dec 6 - The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) today felicitated young cricketer Riyan Parag for his selection in the India U-19 World Cup team.

Riyan was here in the city for a short break before going to Bengaluru for the camp which will commence from December 8. He will leave for the camp tomorrow. ACA vice president Ramen Dutta, secretary Pradip Buragohain, treasurer Munin Saikia, joint secretaries Kamakhya Saikia, Sujit Choudhury, former cricketer Arlen Konwar, Ranji Trophy selection committee chairman Satyagopal Chakravorty were present during the occasion.

The members of the State cricket body wished Riyan for a bright show in the U-19 World Cup to be played in New Zealand from January 13 to February 3. Buragohain hoped Riyan will shine in New Zealand and will bring laurels to the country and Assam.

In his brief speech, Riyan said he will do his best to perform well. Treasurer Saikia offered the vote of thanks.
