GUWAHATI, Sept 4 � Abutani Sports Club annexed the title in the Sampreeti Sangh organised Sarbanada Bora and Srikanta Saikia Memorial Football Tournament. In the entertaining final played at the Assam Engineering Institute ground, Chandmari here today, Abutani defeated Sampreeti Sangha Coaching Centre 4-3.
It was however, Sampritee Sangha which took lead in the 27th minute through Abraham Goodluck. But their jubilation was shortlived as Chaulin restored parity just after two minutes. After the equaliser, Abutani scored three goals before the break to go 4-1 ahead. Richard Abraham (31st minute), Choulin (42nd minute) and Alex Singh (43rd minute) were the goal scorers for the winning team. In the second session, Abraham Goodluck struck twice in the 47th and 53rd minute.
Abraham Goodluck was later declared best player of the final.
In the closing function, State Director of Sports Sanjib Gohain Baruah, social worker Radha Bora, principal of Assam Engineering Institute Akshay Deka gave away the prizes.
