Abu completes 100 wkts in Ranji

GUWAHATI, Dec 10 � Speed star Abu Nechim Ahmed has completed 100 wickets in Ranji Trophy today.

After taking the wicket of Varun Sharma, caught by Tarjinder Singh, Abu became the sixth Assam bowlers to capture 100 Ranji wickets.

Earlier, pace bowler Anu Ghatak (125), was the first Assam bowler to take more than 100 wickets in Ranji Trophy. Gautam Dutta (156) was the second pacer of the State to get over 100 wickets and he was followed by another speed star Zaved Zaman (122) who took more that 100 wickets in the premier national cricket cahmpionship.

Delhi spinner Sukhvinder Singh (148), who played for Assam, was the first slow bowler to complete 100 wickets for Assam and Arlen Konwar (198) is the other Assam spinner to take more than 100 wickets. Arlen is the highest wicket taker of Assam in Ranji Trophy.

Abu today completed his 100 wickets in 34 matches. ACA secretary Bikash Baruah congratulated Abu for his achievement.
