ABSUs total revolution begins

By Correspondent

BONGAIGAON, Oct 12 Bodofa (Father of Bodos) Upendra Nath Brahma dreamt of a total change in the Bodo society through total revolution. But even after 25 years of his death no Bodo leader has felt the need to continue the revolution what Bodofa had expected. So, to fulfil the wish of Bodofa, the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has resumed the revolution from Friday in Chirang district.

Under the leadership of ABSU president Pramod Boro, 250 volunteers from seven regional units of the student body in the district, forming a peace brigade, moved on foot to the villages to interact with the common people about their problems, share opinions with them and make plans for solving the problems so that they can work for their welfare in true sense. This programme will continue till October 31 and cover all the villages in the district with a view to knowing the ground situation.

This mission of the student body is neither related to any politics nor the ensuing Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) polls, said Bodo. It is purely a step for socioeconomic change in the Bodo society, he added.
