kokrajhar, Feb 4 � The ABSU has reiterated its stand to continue the struggle to uplift the social, educational and political aspects in the interest of the greater Bodo society of the region, said Promod Boro, president of ABSU, while hoisting the flag of the student body in its 43rd annual conference at Maidangshree Nagar in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.
At the same time, he claimed that the ABSU is in favour of a violence free society that is also free from armed conflict. There is no force that can resist the Bodo society towards progress and overall development, Boro added.
The ABSU president was extended guard of honour by 1,000 volunteers.
On the second day of the ABSU conference, Bidyasagar Narzary, Sahitya Akademi awardee, was the chief guest in a programme which deliberated on the topic, �Book reading to develop the reading culture�.
A souvenir titled Banargamami was also released by Brajendra Kumar Brahma, ex-president, BSS.
The venue came alive with the tunes and rhythm of �Kam�, �Siphung� and �Serja�, Bodo traditional musical instruments. Besides, 29 ABSU flags from different district committees were unfurled. Meanwhile, the first delegates� session, which was held on Tuesday evening, raised the separate state demand. However, the ABSU has to decide on a clear strategy on the issue only on the concluding day of the conference.
