UDALGURI, July 11 The influential All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) has demanded early solution to the Bodo medium problems and threatened to launch a rigorous movement if their demands like Bodo medium-related educational problems are not taken up in the State Assembly session beginning Monday.
Talking to the media at a press meet at Routa in Udalguri today, the Union accused the State Government of stepmotherly attitude towards the Bodo issues including solving the Bodo medium problems, implementation of Bodo Accord like withdrawal of cases related to persons who were involved in the Bodoland movement and granting ST status to Bodos living in Hill districts of Karbi Anglong and NC Hills, despite repeated demands.
We are only demanding right to education in our mother tongue. But the State Government has shown a careless attitude towards the problems faced by the Bodo medium students, though they are the single largest indigenous community in the State.
