Abducted SBI official rescued

SHILLONG, June 18 � The abducted officer of a public sector bank was today rescued unharmed by police from the clutches of suspected militants from a village in West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya. �We have rescued State Bank of India official Arvind Kumar from Millem village in Raksakona area about 25 km away from district headquarters Tura in the wee hours. He is unharmed and was admitted in a hospital at Tura,� IGP G HP Raju said. Acting on a tip off that Kumar was kept in a house in the village, police raided the area and as they approached armed men fired at the police team. When retaliated, they fled, Raju said.� PTI
