GUWAHATI, May 10 � Expressing shock and indignation over the brutal murder of a young lady doctor at the AMCH, the All Assam Students� Union (AASU) today said that the incident was indicative of the growing lawlessness in the State and the failure of the State Government to ensure protection of lives and property of the people.
In a statement, the AASU said that the medical fraternity in particular was increasingly getting targeted by hooligans and anti-socials even inside hospitals, which was having a demoralizing impact on the people engaged in the sector.
�The Chief Minister and the Health Minister are particularly responsible for failing to protect the lives and dignity of the medical professionals. The culprits involved in the ghastly murder of the lady doctor must be booked and exemplarily punished,� it added.
