AASU exhibits black flags, burns PM�s effigy at Amingaon

BAIHATA CHARIALI, Feb 9 - To register protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016 and the stand of the State government as well as the Centre in this regard, the Kamrup district unit of AASU today exhibited black flags and flew black balloons at Amingaon during Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s visit to the proposed AIIMS site at Changsari on the occasion of the ground-breaking ceremony of the medical institute held today.

The AASU activists gathered at their district office at Amingaon and raised slogans against the BJP-led State and Central governments like �BJP government murdabad�, �Sarbananda Sonowal murdabad�, �Himanta Biswa Sarma murdabad�, �reject CAB� etc., and burnt the effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dhiraj Rajbongshi, adviser of Kamrup district unit of AASU said that the programme was organised under the direction of AASU and a number of central committee members of AASU including Prakash Das and Dharmeswar Das, assistant secretary and office secretary of AASU respectively and Nirod Das, Dibakar Kalita and Hemanta Das, adviser, president and secretary respectively of Kamrup district unit of AASU and Hemen Das, president of Rangiya subdivision unit of AASU participated. During the programme, Police and CRPF personnel resorted lathicharge in which a number of AASU activists were injured.
