AASU concern

By The Assam Tribune

GUWAHATI, Sept 14 Expressing concern over the large-scale presence of illegal migrants and also the reported presence of fundamentalist elements in Assam, the All Assam Students Union (AASU) today said the State Government as well as the Centre had an abiding responsibility in identifying and removing such anti-socials from the State.

In a statement, the AASU said that unabated cross-border infiltration from Bangladesh was facilitating the ground for fundamentalist elements to enter Assam in a bid to further their nefarious designs, but the State Government and the Centre had been maintaining a stoic silence over the disturbing developments.
