GUWAHATI, June 24 The All Assam Students Union has written to the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj to take steps for deporting the illegal Bangladeshi immigrants back to the neighbouring country. Swaraj would be visiting Bangladesh from June 25 to June 27. The students body argued that the steps should be taken immediately to fulfil the promises made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of Assam during his election rallies, which included expulsion of a large number of illegal migrants residing in Assam. It also demanded concrete action to seal Indo-Bangladesh border and updating the NRC.
