AASU, 26 ethnic groups to continue stir

GUWAHATI, Dec 27 � The All Assam Students� Union and 26 organizations representing various ethnic groups of the State today vowed to continue the movement against construction of mega dams. These organizations will bring out torch light processions all over the State tomorrow evening in support of their demand for stopping construction of mega dams.

In a release here, the AASU said that the torch light processions would be brought out in all district and subdivisional headquarters of the state. The AASU dared the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi to hold a meeting between the experts of Assam and those from other parts of the country and abroad on the feasibility of construction of mega dams in seismically active area like Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
