By Correspondent

ITANAGAR, Aug 30 -Reiterating its strong opposition to the State Governments move to adopt and extend Centres Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy 2014 in the State, the All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union today urged the Government to rethink on the issue as the Cabinet while taking the decision has not taken into account the aspirations, opinions and sentiments of the indigenous people of the State.

When the whole State is facing problematic situation because of the vexed refugee issue and no concrete solution has been visualised, such hasty decision is unwelcome, said AAPSU in a press statement here, adding that the State Government should have taken the views from various sections of the people, including NGOs, students community before taking such sensitive policy decision.

The AAPSU stated that Arunachal Pradesh is strategically a sensitive State. The implementation of the policy in States like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Karnataka cannot be equated with that of Arunachal Pradesh which is a restricted State.

It opined that the implementation of the policy in the State will have adverse impact on its demography and livelihood of the indigenous populace, besides violating the existing laws.
