AAPSU protests against China renaming six places in Arunachal

By Correspondent

ITANAGAR, April 24 - All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) today took out a protest rally here against Chinas oft-repeated claims over the States territory and the Chinese Governments recent renaming of six places in the frontier State.

During the protest rally, the members of the apex students organisation chanted anti-China slogans and burnt the effigy of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

AAPSU said that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and will remain so. Hundreds of students and general public participated in the protest rally.

Arunachal Pradesh has never been a part of China and Arunachalees hold strongest patriotism for India. Arunachal is an integral part of India and if we go by history, people of the State had participated in the countrys freedom movement. People here have never been under Chinese rule, asserted AAPSU president Hawa Bagang.

Chinese Government recently announced standardised official names for six places in Arunachal Pradesh, which it considers to be part of South China, days after Beijing lodged strong protests with New Delhi over the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lamas visit to the frontier State.

The AAPSU president also criticised the State Government for remaining silent over the issue, adding that the matter needs to be taken seriously.
