AAMSU for new NRC based on March 25, 1971

By Correspondent

NAGAON, April 9 There is no legal authenticity of 1951 NRC and it is either incomplete or incorrect mainly in nine districts of the State. This was observed by a group of AAMSU members led by Rafiqul Islam. The AAMSU has demanded to stop the updating process of 1951 NRC and wants a new NRC based on March 25, 1971.

Addressing mediapersons here on April 4, the AAMSU leaders demanded to solve the problems of D voters before preparing the NRC. They also warned not to harass the genuine Indian citizens in the name of Bangladeshi nationals. The AAMSU also criticised the role played by SEBA during the last HSLC examination.

The AAMSU adviser Sabibur Rahman and president Rafiqul Islam with other leaders of the organisation addressing the media persons observed that Congress led State Government failed to give justice to the minorities but at the same time AIUDF has also failed to assert their presence in the Assembly though they formed the party promising to work for the minorities.
