KOKRAJHAR, Aug 11 - The All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani (AAKRS) staged a two-hour sit-in-demonstration at Children Park, Kokrajhar near Deputy Commissioner�s Office recently demanding a magisterial inquiry into the Choutara incident, unconditional release of all the arrested persons in connection with the incident etc.
The All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani has also demanded immediate suspension of Kamol Gupta, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kokrajhar for his �unfair� action against the AAKRS activists.
A large number of AAKRS supporters under the leadership of Ranjit Kumar Roy, general secretary of AAKRS joined the dharna programme with different posters and banners and also shouted slogans on their demands. Later, the AAKRS also submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar.
AAKRS general secretary Ranjit Kumar Roy alleged that under the command and direction of ASP Kamol Gupta security forces beat up AAKRS activists mercilessly on August 6 last at Chautara railway station in Kokrajhar during Rail-Roko programme.
Talking to media persons, AAKRS general secretary Ranjit Kumar Roy further said if the Government fails to fulfill their demands immediately than the AAKRS will be compelled to launch a vigorous mass movement.
