9 relief camps closed down

GUWAHATI, Jan 17 � During the last 24 hours, nine relief camps have been closed down in Kokrajhar district and there is no operational relief camp in Sonitpur, as reported by the district administration.

A total of 16,874 inmates have left relief camps for their villages during this period. With this, the total number of relief camps has come down to 16 in three districts, � Kokrajhar, Chirang and Udalguri, an official release said.

As on today, approximately 26,180 inmates are living in 16 relief camps. In Kokrajhar, 9,601 inmates are in six relief camps; in Chirang 15,527 inmates are in seven relief camps and in Udalguri 642 inmates are living in three relief camps. No reports of any untoward incidence have been received from any of these districts.
