HAILAKANDI, Sept 25 - Atleast seven Haj pilgrims of Hailakandi district were injured and have been admitted at Saudi Arabia hospital.
They have been identified as Manowar Hussain Mazumdar of Hailakandi town, Nurul Haque Laskar, Hazira Begum and Moinul Haque of Gharmurra, Moin Uddin Laskar, Faiul Haque Barbhuiya and Kabir Hussain of Algapur.
Minaj Hussain Mazumdar, son of Manowar Hussain, informed media that his father aged about 40 has got serious head injury and his condition is critical. Others have also got multiple injuries and are undergoing treatment at a government hospital there, informs the secretary of Hailakandi district Haj committee, Abul Hussain Majharbhjiya.
A total of 366 people went to Haj this year from Hailakandi district. A special namaaz was also organised in Hailkandi today for the early recovery of injured pilgrims.
North Lakhimpur: Two Haj pilgrims from North Lakhimpur were among the injured persons in Haj stampede in Mecca.
The two injured persons are Abdul Matlib (Dulu) from North Lakhimpur town and Ubedur Rahman of Sensowa village of the district. According to the family sources Abdul Matlib was seriously injured in the stampede and regained his consciousness today in a Mecca hospital. However, the family members of the other person were still unaware about the condition of Ubedur Rahman.
