HAILAKANDI, Oct 24 - A nine-member child scientists� group from Hailakandi district is participating at the State level Children's Science Congress at Majuli, which will continue till October 26. The focal theme of this year is �Science, Technology and Innovation for a Clean, Green and Healthy Nation�. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate the event on Wednesday.

Prior to their departure, a district-level mentoring programme was organised at the premises of Rotary Club, Hailakandi in association with the Assam Science Society, Hailakandi branch, where the Inspector of Schools Rajiv Kumar Jha was present as chief guest. Jha interacted with the selected young scientists and gave them valuable inputs on developing scientific temper.

District Coordinator, Dr Pinak Pani Nath Choudhury welcomed all the guests and participants in the programme. Secretary, Assam Science Society, Lutfur Rahman and Rotarian Shankar Choudhury monitored the programme.

The little scientists representing Hailakandi district are Abu Saleh, Ruhit Paul, Suprio Roy, Tahmidul Hoque, Adity Das (all from Spring Valley Central School), Debangsi Biswas (Blue Flowers School), Sahina Akhtar (Royal High School), Lakhi Mazumder (PK Girls� School), Khaleda Khanom (IK Girls� School) and Priyanka Bin (Mount Peak School).

Debangsi Biswas of Blue Flowers School has opted out citing personal problems.
