87th session of Sankardev Sangha to be held at Dergaon

DERGAON, Jan 16 - The venue of the four-day 87th session of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha (SSS) to be held here from February 7 to 10 is abuzz with activity as a Naamghar contructed for the session was inaugurated yesterday.

The naamghar was formally inaugurated by the president of the reception committee Pabitra Pran Bora by placing the Guru Aashan ceremonially at a function held on the occasion.

�After placing the Guru Aashan, the Naamghar will remain open 24x7 every day till the session is over on February 10,� informed the president of the reception committee.

�Naam will be performed in the Naamghar thrice till February 10,� the president added.

The Guru Aashan, it may be pertinent to add here, was donated by the retired Principal of Kakodonga HS School Nijara Baruah, while the Naamghar was constructed by the reception committee with donations received from the devotees.

The posts of the Naamghar are of Sewa trees collected from different parts of the district. Talking to this Correspondent at the venue, the secretary of the reception committee Devanjan Bora revealed that almost 70 percent work had been completed and he was hopeful that everything would be completed before time.

It may be mentioned that the 87th annual session of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha is scheduled to be held from February 7-10 at the Pandit Raisaheb Gopikaballav Goswami Samannay Kshetra here under the aegis of Golaghat district branch of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha.
