8 new faces in AGP 4th list

GUWAHATI, March 12 � The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today published its fourth list of nominees for 26 Legislative Assembly Constituencies. With these nominees, the party has so far announced the names of 94 of its nominees. Today�s list contains the names of eight new candidates.

The party has decided not to field any candidate for the Jonai and Majuli LACs as per an understanding with the Gana Shakti. The names of the party nominees for the remaining 30 LACs would be declared within a day or two, said party president Chandra Mohan Patowary at a press conference here today.

Patowary also informed media persons that the party has decided to field two candidates in Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao Districts as per an agreement with the Autonomous State Demand Com mittee (ASDC). It has also taken a decision for not field candidates in Kokrajhar East and West, Sidli, Bijni, Udalguri, Paneri and Majbat LACs as per an understanding with the Bodoland People�s Progressive Front (BPPF), he said.
