78.52 pc students pass Mizoram Class XII exams

AIZAWL, July 14 - The results of the Class XII examinations, 2020 held under the Mizoram Board of School Education were announced today. This year, 78.52 per cent candidates cleared the examinations, a slight decrease from last year�s 78.94 per cent.

A total of 12,324 candidates, including 6,591 girls, appeared in the examinations in the Arts, Science and Commerce streams. As many as 9,677 passed students passed these examinations.

The girls outsmarted the boys by registering 79.14 per cent success against the boys� 77.81 per cent.

As many as 2,551 students failed to clear the examinations, while 96 got compartmental chances.

While 431 candidates passed with distinction, 2,806 candidates secured the first division, 4,046 got the second division and 2,391 were placed in the third division.

In the Arts stream, 7,377 out of the 9,470 students who appeared in the examinations, were successful, clinching a pass percentage of 77.90. Boys registered a 77.46 pass percentage, while girls managed to get a 78.27 pass percentage.

In the Science stream, 2,267 candidates appeared in the examinations and 1,800 cleared them, registering a 79.40 pass percentage. Boys got a 77.67 pass percentage, while girls bagged 80.93 pass percentage.

In the Commerce stream, 587 candidates out of 500 who sat for the examinations came out successful, registering a 85.18 pass percentage. Boys got 83.28 pass percentage, while girls secured 87.23 percentage.

In the Arts Stream, Christina Lalcchandami topped the results with 90.8 per cent. Lalram Beiseii with 81.72 per cent came second, while Haris Lalpekhlua came third with 88.6 per cent.

Lalremsiana Darchhun with 94 per cent topped the Science results. Zodinpuia is the second topper with 89 per cent and Ashish Chauhan came third with 88.4 per cent marks.

The Commerce stream topper, Lalhriatpuia Ralte, scored 91 per cent marks. Lalrintluangi came second with 89.8 per cent and Laldingzuali Sailo with 88.8 per cent marks came third.
