AIZAWL, May 30 - A 77 year-old man was on Saturday arrested by Mizoram Excise & Narcotics department for violating MLPC Act and selling liquor illegally.
Sources said that Excise & Narcotics department staff and Field Veng YMA branch in Vairengte in a joint operation on Saturday raided the house of one Sawithanga and seized around 100 bottles of liquor of different brands from his possession.
According to YMA branch, Sawithanga had been warned several times not to sell liquor illegally. However, the accused refused to obey the warning. He was sent to judicial custody on Sunday.
