7-yr-old boy murdered in satanic ritual

By Correspondent

TURA, Oct 8 In a gruesome incident that has sent shivers down the spine of many people a seven year old boy from BSF campus in Praharinagar here was murdered and his body dumped on Wednesday night in what is being termed as a case of human sacrifice.

The young boy Krishna Singh, studying in Class II, was residing in the family quarters of the 121 Battalion of the BSF in Praharinagar. His father is a water carrier in the force.

He had gone out with his ten year old elder brother to the puja temple 200 metres from his house inside the BSF campus around 5 pm.

While the elder brother was offering prayers the younger one said he would return home. However, when the elder brother returned home he found his sibling hadnt returned. A frantic search was carried out well into the night by the BSF personnel but to no avail.

At 6 am next day, his naked body was found in a bush just behind the premises not very far from the staff quarters.

The boy had several stab marks and appeared to have burn marks all over his skin from incense sticks lodged on his body. The burn marks were on his forehead, left ear, his stomach, chest and even his thighs.

A post-mortem at Tura civil hospital ruled out sexual assault but stated that the young boy died from multiple grievous injuries on his vital organs. His pancreas, liver, lungs and even his spleen had apparently ruptured from the several stabs onto his body.

The murderer is believed to have used a sharp object to repeatedly stab the boys body in a satanic ritual. Medical experts believe the child suffered immensely before his death.

Police have registered a case of murder and several persons from the campus have been questioned.

One of the prime suspects is a self-styled Godman or Tantrik who was last seen on Wednesday inside the campus. On Thursday morning when the body was found the Tantrik had already disappeared. He was located in Mancachar town of Dhubri district, Assam.

Tura police has dispatched a team to bring in the Tantrik for questioning on Thursday but was unsuccessful as an angry mob refused to allow them to take their Godman into custody. Efforts are being made through the Assam police to get the Tantrik to Tura for interrogation.

PTI adds: Meanwhile, two BSF men have been detained by the police in connection with the case.

Havildar Chandrawan and Constable Babu Khan are being questioned by police at Tura, Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Goyal said today.

A team from Meghalaya Police has been sent to Mancachar in Assam from where an occultist had visited the BSF campus a few days back. The occultist was picked up and released on PR bond at Mancachar police station today.
