IMPHAL, Sept 5 - The State-level Teachers� Day function in Manipur was held at the conference hall of Samagra Shiksha at Babupara here. Education Minister Dr Th Radheshyam Singh, Commissioner (Education-S) T Ranjit and Director (Education-S) L Nandakumar also attended the function.
Speaking on the occasion, the Education Minister lauded the teachers for shaping the society. Urging the teachers to analyse the new education policy, Radheshyam Singh pointed out that teachers themselves are an institution as per the new policy.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Government presented State teacher awards to seven teachers, mostly headmasters and headmistresses of schools.
The award-winning teachers include Moirangthem Thoibi of PK Upper Primary School, Imphal East district, L Khupkhothang Khongsai of Kumbi Pukhri High School, Churachandpur district, Kh Sanayaima of Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, Bishnupur district, B Romeo Sharma of Chajing Mairenkhong Upper Primary School, Imphal West district, Th Ajitkumar Singh of Khunthoknganbi Upper Primary school, Imphal West district, Khundrakpam Warjit of Senapati Aided Junior High School, Senapati district, and Khangembam Kanhai Singh of Tekcham Girls� Upper Primary School, Thoubal district.
