SHILLLONG, June 17 � Seven people died, which included a child and women, while three others were injured when their vehicle fell into a gorge near Tongseng village, Jaintia Hills district, today.
The vehicle was on its way to Guwahati from Silchar, Assam. The village, where the mishap occurred, is about 150 kms from here. The occupants of the ill-fated vehicle were staff and family members of Barak Valley Cement Limited.
According to sources, the victims died on the spot while the driver and two minors survived the accident with injuries. The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
